A THEATR MWLDAN / CARDIGAN CASTLE CO-PROMOTION
Doors 6.30pm
Powered by evocative songcraft, jaw-dropping guitar playing, and indefinable spirit, Richard Thompson launched his career by co-founding the trailblazing Fairport Convention, responsible for igniting a British Folk Rock movement. Since then has had one of the most decorated careers in music... an OBE, a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award, Ivor Novellos and Nashville’s Americana awards. Rolling Stone named him one of the Top 20 Guitarists of All Time, the list goes on. His infl uence is far reaching and everyone from Robert Plant, Don Henley and Elvis Costello to REM, Christy Moore and David Bryne have covered his music. He was Nick Drake’s guitarist and Werner Herzog used him for the hauntingly beautiful soundtrack to Grizzly Man (recently rereleased).
